Description
The Italian cartographer and editor Antonio Zatta published his main work, "Atlante Novissimo" in four volumes in Venice, which includes the present piece. The four corners of the piece are decorated with elaborate mythological scenes and the map marks the exploratory travels of Cook and Bougainville undertaken between 1766 and 1771. Copper engraving manually colored after printing.
