Besides portraits, genre scenes, static nature and flowers, recurrent genres pertaining to his creation, his repertoire will also include sporadic episodes such as "Toledo" and "Venice", through which the artist will expose his interest for the city landscape. Treated starting with the second half of the 50's, up until the 80's, the Venetian episode will offer the painter Baba generous inspiration resources, of which he will chose the less picturesque ones. Venice will incite him to understand its particular landscape, which, in order to be fathomed, required that its pictural beauty be experienced, as in case of the serious understanding of a portrait, within which the resources of his palette will be engaged in a majestic cooperation. Attracted by the radiance of Venice, by the bleak gravity of the water on the canals, by the Venetian market, or by the imposing buildings, the artist will use a rich paste for illustrating them, thus evoking the aspects of a place full of impressions, along with a strong expressivity of the forms, which will stand out through imposing dialogues between lights and shadows.
