Țuculescu asserts himself as an authentic interpreter of nature and excels especially in creating landscapes, but the small cycle dedicated to portraits also owes him recognition of his painting qualities. Among the first such manifestations and attempts to delve into the depths of human psychology are the series of self-portraits in which the philosopher-painter discovers himself. Then follow the portraits dedicated to the people in his close circle: his grandfather, Dr. Papilian or Gala Galaction. He will dedicate several canvases to Gala Galaction, especially around the '40s. In ink, oil or watercolor, Țuculescu will stop each time at other details and curiosities aroused by the writer, priest and theology professor. Gala Galaction will also stand out as a journalist and will edit, along with Tudor Arghezi, magazines like "Cronica" or "Spicul". Thus he will penetrate into the middle of the artistic world and will make friends with significant painters, who will transcribe his features on their canvases. We mention here the portrait dedicated to him by Nicolae Tonitza, under the name "The Man of the New World". Gala Galaction will be an unyielding epigone of faith and a true lover of culture, portrayed over time by numerous representatives of visual arts.
