The artwork was part of the personal exhibition Michel Simonidy, Georges Petit Gallery, Paris, 1929. The artwork is reproduced in the magazine "L'Art et les artistes", Paris, 1929, no. 94-99, in the article dedicated to Mihail Simonidy by Francis de Miomandre, p. 259-265, under the title "Le Sommeil".
