Research information

Most grey gouaches, achieved by Lascăr Vorel using the grisaille technique, were painted in 1915 and displayed on the occasion of his only personal lifetime exhibition, in München in 1916. Most likely, the present artwork is part of this exceptional series, regained by the Vorel family after his death, and brought back to Romania, be it in some private collections, or in the soon-to-be Piatra Neamț Museum.
