The ornamental cup, made of bronze, features an exceptional and abundant decoration, executed in cloisonne enamel technique. The gilded bronze on a blue background and the polychromatic richness of the motif reminds of an imaginary and inspiration stemming from the Orient. The vessel rests on three gilded bronze legs, adorned with ram heads and finished with hooves. We note the decoration of Oriental and eclectic inspiration, characteristic of the artistic tendency in France, under the second Empire.
