The newspaper "Racheta" was printed on the Romanian frontline during the first World War and distributed in the areas of military operations where those who wrote it fought. The editorial board consisted of officers and its was led by captains D. Cioc and Iuliu Dunca. The newspaper included propaganda articles, but also humorous materials or articles taken from other publications, such as, in this case, the Calendars edited by Queen Mary for the soldiers on the front in 1917 and 1918. The copy placed for auction was subjected to the intervention of the military censorship that cut certain articles. "Racheta" was written and illustrated entirely by hand, on a very cheap paper, available in the frontline area. After writing, a few copies were printed using the hectograph, which circulated in the front line. The copy has a handwritten dedication of the editorial staff to major Manolescu, probably the commanding officer of the two editor-in-chief captains. The piece is a special one, rare, because very few copies with very low circulation anyway have been preserved, Although it shows signs of the passage of time, the copy is in a good state of preservation.
