The series of works titled "Dream Generator" exemplifies the methodology developed by Hortensia Mi Kafchin, where the creative process is articulated through the "flow" technique—a continuous, intuitive, and uninterrupted stream of imagination. Designed under the "deux faces" (two sides or double-sided) concept, these ink drawings serve as a visual cartography of the subconscious, where the boundaries between objective reality, memory, and inner journeys are constantly dissolved and reconfigured. In direct contrast to the rigidity and conventions characteristic of many traditional art schools—primarily focused on mimetic representation, studying from nature, or formal analysis of the external world—Hortensia Mi Kafchin’s practice is rooted in exploring her own existence. For Kafchin, the inner world constitutes the primary field of phenomenological investigation, where imagination does not serve a purely decorative or illustrative function but becomes the main instrument of knowledge, through which biography, identity, and states of transformation are processed and transposed into a personal iconography rich in ideological symbolism.
