Ioan Pârvan rises to fame notably within international art galleries. Whether we are talking about Paris, Leipzig or Heilbroom, the artist impressed the public beyond Romania's borders, winning their hearts forever. He also displays in Romania, in Bucharest, Craiova or Dolj, mainly after 1974 - the year he graduated from the Plastic Arts Institute in Bucharest. Nowadays, part of his sculptures can be admired within the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Bucharest or the Constanța Art Museum. Ioan Pârvan worked mainly in bronze and sculpted highly varied character typologies. His muses appear in front of the public under various guises. Whether they take over the image of harlequins and prove the author's capacity to approach an allegoric theme, or whether they introduce themselves as heroes of the ancient world and are decorated with accessories reminding of ancient Egyptians, the models sculpted by the artist surprise with the richness of the represented details. The main characters in Pârvan's sculptures brim with a meticulously calculated expressiveness and a thoroughly studied body language.
