The series consists of 4 portraits (Edgar Allan Poe, Stéphane Mallarmé - the current work, Charles Baudelaire and Fernando Pessoa) and 3 compositions (The Raven, Nevermore and Lenore), all based on collages previously made by Ghenie. Stéphane Mallarmé was a prominent representative of French symbolism (notable poet and critic).
