Karl Kaufmann is recognised as one of the artists who used many pseudonyms, this fact becoming one of the features of his creation. He used to sign with both Italian and German names, some examples being: Leo Perla, Carlo, C.Von Erlach, Henri Carnier, J. Holmstedt, Charles Marchand, J. Rollin, Carl Apati Hanka, Charles Kaufmann, A. Hofmann, P Toretti and more.
