Karl Kaufmann is recognized as one of the artists who used many pseudonyms, a fact which has become one of the features of his creation. He used both Italian and German names in his signatures, such as: Leo Perla, Carlo, C. von Erlach, Henri Carnier, J. Holmstedt, Charles Marchand, J. Rollin, Carl Apati Hanka, Charles Kaufmann, A.
