Florica Ioan graduates from the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest under the guidance of teachers Cornel Medrea and Nicolae Dărăscu. Since 1952, her exhibition activity has been linked to the National Art Salons and the Simeza Gallery. The artist demonstrates a special sensitivity in the creation of portraits and uses very expressive sculpted volumes. She captures both the playful spirit, which she captured in a long series of works dedicated to childhood, and the complexities of the mature being. Her inspiration comes from the immediate reality or proposes allegories ad myths. She creates an organic stylisation and focuses on the message and emotion conveyed. The physiognomy of bodies will be a constant interest of her work. She takes the motif of the primordial couple, which she reinterprets through the poetic subtlety of her own style. Florica Ioan also created a monumental sculpture of public forum, among which we mention the bust of George Enescu, located in the Public Garden in Galati, "The Rest", in Pitesti or "The Legend", in Felix Baths.
