The Organic Regulation was a fundamental law that modernized some institutions of Wallachia. It reorganized old public services and created new ones, determined their composition and competence, organized a body of permanent officials, set the conditions for appointment, remuneration and retirement, established the national militia, simplified and modernized the financial system, basing it on the rational concept of balancing expenditure and income, abolished venality of functions, organized a Legislative Assembly. Also, it introduced the principle of the election of the ruler and regulated relations between landlords and serfs. The fact that the provisions of the Regulation cover practically all areas of a state's life: central and local administration, judicial courts, organization of urban and rural life, the tax system, labor relations, the way of electing the Lord etc., brings this regulation closer to the idea of a modern Constitution. Also, the legal language, although it evolved, still did not have the appropriate terms for a real constitutional act. The involvement of the Protective Power, namely the Russian Empire, also limited the modern character of the act. Chapters such as The Election of the Ruler, The Works of the General Assembly, The Organization of Finances, the organization of the Ministry of Interior, trade, the health system, justice and education deserve to be highlighted. The volume also includes the following works: "The Military Regulation for the Earth Militia of the Principality of Wallachia"; "The Usual Works of the General Assembly of 1831 and 1832" with the project on the duties of public officials; "The Usual Works of the General Assembly of 1832" refers to the organization of the City Councils; "Regulation of Public Schools in the Principality of the Romanian Country" refers to the organization of primary and secondary education"; "The Works of the General Assembly of 1833" includes projects for the organization of the Orthodox Church. The binding is of the time, brown leather glued on cardboard with the spine divided into six registers, mentioning the title: "Organic Regulation" and the mention "With the works of the general assembly 1831 and 1832 and 1833". The conservation condition is good, the cover shows minor signs of age.
