On the obverse, the legend: "Carol I. Ferdinand I." can be observed. Within a laurel wreath are the raised busts of the sovereigns Carol I (1839-1914) and Ferdinand I (1865-1927). The reverse is decorated with a laurel wreath and the years "1877/1927" inscribed in two rows. The medal comes with a handle for the ribbon. The "50 years since the War of Independence 1877-1927" medal, rare, made of silver with the marking 835, was instituted on May 9, 1927, and awarded to veterans of the War of Independence.
