The label on the back of the mask contains the following information: "This mask has been carved of Jelutong wood by Edisoni Chapalala, with the help of his wife M'Shlupvi and his son Carnici. They live on the banks of the Mutale river where it joins the Limpopo. This mask symbolizes for him the fighting spirits of life."
