The Biedermeier bergère armchair dates back to the beginning of this stylistic period. The backrest is adjustable in 5 positions still featuring its original metal stoppers.
This piece precedes the famous "Sitzmaschine" by Josef Hofmann.
It features original, individually filled straps and springs, seagrass, horsehair and modern yellow fabric. Although the surface shows signs of old wormhole damage, the chair remains in good condition. Recently restored, polished with shellac. Wear due to age is distinguishable
