Bayezid I or Bayezid Yldirim, translated as Bayezid the Thunderbolt. The Sultan is known to Romanians thanks to his battle against Mircea the Elder, in Rovine, in 1395. According to the Hijri Calendar (the Islamic calendar), the coin is dated 792, namely 1390 A.D.

It originates from an auction house based in Sweden. The preliminary origin (March 2010) is the sale of the medieval Romanian coins collection belonging to a German numismatist, Berlin.
