This category of non-epigraph coins of an average weight of 0.35 g, was known under the name of Ban (that is how the silver Dinar of the Slavonic currency was previously called). The Wallachian Ban was equivalent to 1/2 Dinars, therefore it corresponded to the Hungarian Obol. On the coin, we can find the eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) watching over its shoulder towards right, with a cross under its wing, standing on the inclined shield (split vertically in half).
