The medal depicts on the obverse the busts of King Carol I, in his military Marshal uniform, facing left, and of Mircea the Elder, also referred to as "the Great", facing right, surrounded by the phrase " + Mircea the Great, Lord of Ungro-Vlachia and Silistria to the sea. 1386- 1418. + Carol the Great of Romania 1913."; the contains an allegorical representation of Romania, centrally located and with a sword and the flag with the royal coat of arms in his hands, next to the inscription "Will and can / Our right" and the bridge "Carol I" behind it.
