In 1704, in Augsburg, German cartographer (1664-1758) published the first edition of his "Atlas", which was re-edited in several editions. He is part of a distinguished family of engravers and cartographers, which was active throughout three generations. The current piece, printed around 1720, offers un an image of Orșova and the Ada Kaleh island. Engraving on copper, manually coloured after imprinting.
