The work was published as support material for the Romanian cause and refers to the tearing away of a part of Transylvania by Hungary and Nazi Germany through the Vienna Dictate of 1940. The author, born in Romania in 1906 in a family of Jewish origin, remained attached to Romania whose cause he supported through a rich journalistic activity. On the first page of the copy there is a large handwritten dedication by him, signed and dated December 1944.
