The North-American car manufacturing company Ford inaugurated in Bucharest in 1936 a modern assembly plant for Ford cars, one of the largest such American enterprises in Europe. The management staff was generally made up of American engineers and managers but the workers were Romanian, many of them trained at the mother plant in Detroit, United States of America. The halls built on Floreasca Road, models of industrial architecture, still exist today. The photographs capture both aspects from the factory and models of Ford cars assembled in Bucharest.
