The work is published in exceptional graphic conditions. It contains a very rich illustrative material (photographic reproductions, heliogravures, chromolithographs). The dust jacket is decorated with Romanian folk motifs. The work was produced by the authorities in Bucharest as propaganda material in the West in favor of Greater Romania, and it enjoyed immense public success at the time. The preface was written by Nicolae Iorga.
