Așa cum mărturisește autorul, tema lucrării "a presupus juxtapunerea unor proiecții subiective despre pictura secolului al XVII-lea. Pictura face parte dintr-o suită de lucrări care au ca problematică proiecții, amprente, unele cu caracter de dagherotip din istoria artei. Am considerat că juxtapunerea acestor amprente culturale, așa cum apar ele în memorie, ajută la reconfigurarea unei imagini actuale, cu forță de expresie și cu un mesaj mai puternic decât realitatea concreta a momentului.
