oil on canvas pasted on cardboard, 43 x 48 cm, 43 × 48 cm, signed and dated bottom right, with red, "V. Grigore, (19)80"

Gifted with an obvious passion for painting, Vasile Grigore pursues his university studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Bucharest, where he nurtures his talent under the tutelage of Prof. Alexandru Ciucurencu. In turn, Vasile Grigore would go on to teach several generations of young artists at the University of Art in Bucharest. Over time, he is awarded with several prizes, attesting his talent in the visual arts. Pedagogue Ciucurencu helps him acquire a special attention to colour – the colour that uses the object as a pretext to externalize and display himself. Many of the painter's works depict nature in various forms, illustrated subjectively, through the prism of passing through the artist's own filter. Vasile Grigore does not shy away from to using vivid, strong, vibrant colours in his paintings; shades of bright red and solar yellow. He knows how to highlight his paintings, skilfully navigating through the cold-warm contrasts by using a dark chromatic, as opposed to the aforementioned vibrant chromatic. Like master Ciucurencu, Vasile Grigore shows a likewise interest in the use of black throughout his works, a fact that would help him illustrate contrasts.
