The series of works dedicated to "Briemberg's Algorithm" begin around 2000, when Nicolae Comănescu, active member of Rostopasca Group, approaches alternative art from a documentary perspective. The neo-expressionism of the artists of "Rostopasca is revealed to us in an impressive succession of exhibitions. Comănescu will compose, alongside with his artist and colleague Florin Tudor, a text dedicated to "Briemberg's Algorithm" cycle. The fiction text encodes metaphors, intended to reveal clues about the works that were to be dedicated to the theme. The two describe, with the seriousness of researchers writing down the results of their work, a scientific experiment in which they, as representatives of the country, have been assigned to be test subjects. This experiment stipulated the problem of the disappearance of the human being, whose presence was to be replaced by cockroaches. This insect was also to become the leitmotif of the series the artist was tackling. Often placed on letterpress prints, the author's proposed micro-organism highlights headlines already embedded in the paper or rewrites phrases meant to become important messages. The artist unmasks through these works the shortcomings of the society and proposes solutions for a positive social evolution. Most of the time, Comănescu formulates philosophical questions subject to rhetoric. He is committed to social fairness and meritocracy, but protects his vices, stridently expressed in the pages of newspapers, from the unmitigated fury of cockroaches.
