Creația lui Vasile Gorduz reflectă două tendințe importante: o dată orientarea spre factura clasică a figurației, cu portretul ca element major, iar pe de altă parte, o orientare spre arhaic, fantasctic, spre sfera ancestraliății și explorarea acestor forme. Vasile Gorduz a dat o mare atenție procesului elaborării, astfel încât privitorul este capturat în modelajul extrem de fin și nuanțat. Creația sa, deși restrânsă din punct de vedere numeric, este extrem de diversă. Ființa fabuloasă reprezentată sculptural duce cu gândul la lupoaica latină sau chiar la lupul din steagul dacic, sugerând originea, etnogeneza noastră ca popor.
