Hungarian scholar, clergyman and teacher Janos Szegedi (1699-1770) published in Claudiopolis (City in Cappadocia, today’s Turkey) in 1744 the first edition of this work, republished in 1763, due to the interest it aroused upon publication. The author taught Canon law for several years in Vienna, Buda and Cluj. He was also noted as an editor of historical works, such as the present volume, which encompasses the lives and deeds of the kings of Hungary. The copy is bound in a vintage leather ensemble, with the bookend divided into five insets delimited by borders decorated with stylized vegetal motifs, such as the interior of the item. A 20th-century ex-libris decorates the interior of the main cover, and on the first white page, we can see a 19th-century handwritten note.
