The map appeared in the Amsterdam 1633 edition of Atlas sive Cosmographicae Meditationes de Fabrica Mundi et Fabricati Figura, first published in 1595 and reprinted several times by the end of the 17th century). In the upper right corner of the lower part one can see a box with the map title and the publisher’s name. In the first section, the course of the Danube from its springs, from the Black Forest Mountains, from the south-west side of present-day Germany (on the lower left side of the image), to its present-day territory and the Austrian side, until after Linz (the upper right corner), crossing, at that time, Suabia, Northern Bavaria, northern Austrian archduchy, is represented. In the second section, we continue to witness the Danube course through the Austrian archduchy (the upper right side of the image), then, descending to the left, in the territories of Hungary and current day Serbia, to Belgrade (lower right corner). In the upper section we see represented (from top to bottom and from left to right) the following political-administrative formations: Rhine Palatinate, southern Franconia, southern Bohemia; Wirtenberg Duchy (Wurtemberg), Duchy of Suabia, Bavaria, the Archduchy of Austria; northern Switzerland, Tyrol County, Northern Styria and Carinthia. In the lower section, the Archduchy of Austria and the Duchy of Stiria are shown, in the right half, Hungary (which then included the north and centre of current day's Serbia), Sclavonia (Slavonia, today part of Croatia), Rascia and Servia (southwestern current day Serbia), in the left half.
