Books have not lost the race with technology but, on the contrary, they still offer us refuge in a Republic of Ideas, which becomes ours when we open them. Manuscripts provide the first medium of literary creation, the first contact of ideas and inspiration with the world outside the creator. Secondly, the workshop of literary, memorialist, journalistic or historiographic production is revealed to us in multiple nuances that allow us to better understand the path from idea to work. After printing, manuscripts become volumes, books, treaties or smaller articles and studies, all of which are equally relevant and evocative, beyond their size. The printed heritage proposed by this auction is completed by valuable maps, authentic sequences of testimonies not only about physical reality, but also about an imaginary universe staged by engraving and printing.
