Invitation to the launch of the new edition of Comte de Lautréamont's Les Chants de maldoror, illustrated by Salvador Dalí with 52 etchings. The volume Les Chants de maldoror, published in 1896, was discovered by the surrealists in the 1930s and was released in 1934 by Albert Skira's publishing house. The invitation shows one of Salvador Dalí's engravings illustrating the volume. Invitation to the opening of an exhibition of Salvador Dalí's engravings, organized in 1963 at Galerie Falvart. The exhibition included a series of etchings on mythological themes. The invitation was made from an aluminium plate on which Salvador Dalí's facsimile signature was reproduced. Invitation to the launch of the first edition in French of the volume of poems "Mao Tse-Toung", illustrated by Salvador Dalí. The volume was launched in 1967 at Galerie Falvart. A letter written by Salvador Dalí in which he questions the unjustified expectations of art critics regarding surrealist images. He believes that no matter how many plastic investigations or "nonsense" are said on the subject, the images of surrealism will take on more and more shapes and colours, demoralising and causing confusion.
