Pe corpul ovoidal, uşor aplatizat, se desfăşoară un peisaj marin cu veliere surprinse în larg, subiect ilustrat foarte rar în creaţia lui Emile Galle. Gama cromatică restrânsă la ocru, albastru şi albastru ametist este exploatată la maximum prin gravarea în camee. Luminozitatea din fundal contrastează cu umbrele vaselor surprinse pe valurile domoale.
