Although the opening subject of the letter refers to Gala Galaction's application, at the age of 72, to join the Society for the Spread of Science and Culture sponsored by the Romanian Writers" Union, the bulk of the document contains the writer's recollections of Socialist conferences before 1944. The document is written on both sides in blue ink and is hand signed by the author.
