Between 1970 and 1972, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) published a series of publicity materials about the American epic of space conquest represented by the Gemini and Apollo missions. The photos, 11 with the handwritten signatures of the cosmonauts, 29 without, capture the space shuttle pilots and engineers in their flight suits and with the space capsules or lunar vehicles, as well as in memorable sequences during the landing. The set includes six propaganda brochures and five letters from NASA officials to Romanian Gabriel Jecu, including two letters from NASA Director Robert R. Gilruth.
