Ioachim Botez (1884-1956) published in 1935 this work, which became his best known. Volumes I and II are numbered 23 out of a print run of 25 copies not intended for trade and are accompanied by a handwritten dedication by the author. The set is completed by a handwritten letter from him, dated and signed, written in black ink on a paper with the letterhead of the "Ion Heliade Rădulescu" Boys" Gymnasium in Bucharest.
