From the national poet Mihai Eminescu, we have four authentic photographs recognized by specialists, those taken by photographers Jan Tomás in Prague in 1869, Franz Duschek in Bucharest in 1878, Nestor Heck in Iași in 1884, and Jean Bielig in Botoșani in 1887-1888. This piece is a copy of the last photograph, taken in Botoșani, in the last part of his life, when her sister took care of him. In this last photograph, Eminescu looks prematurely aged, with eyes that seem to look into the void, a man in pain. The photographic paper is attached to the vintage cardboard and shows signs of the passage of time. On the back is a handwritten inscription written in red ink, probably by the literary critic Șerban Cioculescu, which reconstructs the history of photography.
