Harta cuprinde, într-o realizare de propagandă adresată publicului larg, direcțiile operațiunilor militare desfășurate de Armata a 4-a română pentru cucerirea Odessei, între 8 august și 16 octombrie 1941. Efortul propagandistic era destinat a acoperi pierderile deosebit de mari ale armatei române în timpul a ceea ce se consideră a fi o victorie majoră a trupelor române în timpul celui de al Doilea Război Mondial.
