Vasul este confecționat din pastă de lut de foarte bună calitate, fără impurități, ars în cuptor și pictat pe un fond negru cu motive geometrice și florale. Este o piesă de ceramică grecească produsă într-un atelier colonial, probabil dobrogean, destinată ceremonialului funerar.
