Stația de transmisie era utilizată de trupele terestre ale armatei sovietice pentru asigurarea comunicațiilor. Era relativ ușor de utilizat și s-a dovedit rezistentă în condițiile aplicațiilor militare. Un model asemănător era utilizat în epocă și de armata română.
