The icon was part of the Apostles' frieze from a post-Brâncoveanu iconostasis. On the blue background in the upper part and green in the lower part of the icon, the Apostle Andrew is depicted, standing, oriented to the left. He holds a rotulus in his right hand. He is depicted according to traditional iconography, with white hair and beard. He wears a green chiton and a red himation, the angular folds of the garment being rendered in darker or lighter shades, of the same color, for shadows or lights. The features of the Apostle Andrew's face are made in accordance with the specific typology of the post-Brâncoveanu style, the model is rendered in a nuanced range of ochres, with graded transitions from the shadow areas to the light ones. The halo around the head is delimited by a red line from the background of the icon. The inscriptions designating the character are executed with white, Cyrillic letters, in the Romanian language.
