In icon painting, the oldest icon with this theme is dated 1514, painted by the monk Amfilofie and illustrates the prayer addressed to Jesus Emanuel - a symbol of the promise of Salvation. The composition unfolds here on 3 registers, the prayer of the saints being addressed this time to Jesus Patocrator (not Emanuel) the emphasis on the idea of the Last Judgment. Stylistic elements such as the typology of the characters and the emphasized graphics of the painting realized with golden hatches frame the work in the "ambiance of Suceava" and allow us to frame the piece towards the end of the sixteenth century and the beginning of the next one.
