Constantin Piliuță distinguishes himself through a non-conformist attitude to the native artistic landscape, creating an art generated by a personal inner tension. Follower of the great master Alexandru Ciucurencu, on the line of rhythmic coloristics, Constantin Piliuță managed to define his own path, occupying a well-defined place in the world of visual arts. The narration of his paintings is ambitious. The painter aims to penetrate the human soul, being convinced that art is meant to produce emotion to the viewer. The artist seeks to synthesize forms, trying to find a bridge between immediate reality and the imaginary plane. Piliuță remains a proponent of figurative expression, which does not lose the spontaneity of the creative act. Without using meticulous approaches, Constantin Piliuță communicates, through his art, with all the people who look at his paintings. With an innocent simplicity, his works are recognizable by the naturalness with which they are painted. During the 70’s, the painter dedicated a series of works to musicality and concerts. This series includes works such as ”Violinist”, ”Guitarist”. The present work, titled "Concert", fits thematically into this broad cycle of works through the compositional subject, having in the foreground two female characters. They seem to be caught in the nets of music, without noticing the everyday life. Constantin Piliuță offers a unique rhythm to the work, by outlining the two solemn figures. The musicality of the composition intertwines with the bright background. Eugen Schileru notes a fact about the luminosity of Piliuță's works: ”As in those panels where he paints with light on light, in Piliuță’s drawings we encounter a kind of luminous crescendo, created by an evocative reporting of black to the white support and a refined value of lines.”. The artist works almost monochromatically in this work, letting the viewer decipher the story behind the painting.
