Format la Şcoala de Arte Frumoase din Bucureşti, unde i-a avut ca profesori pe Theodor Aman şi George Demetrescu Mirea, Kimon Loghi îşi continuă studiile la München, unde este admis în atelierul lui Franz von Stück, pictor reprezentativ pentru Jugendstilul bavarez. Făcând parte din generaţia de artişti care au creat în epoca romantică, lucrările lui Kimon Loghi sunt inspirate din lumea feerică a basmului românesc.
