Parte a ciclului inițiat în urma călătoriei din cursul anului 1932, opera de față surprinde o vedere spre mânăstirea de pe muntele Athos. Pictată în cursul anului 1933, la un an după călătoria de studii, opera era cel mai probabil expusă de Marius Bunescu în atelierul din Muzeul Simu, între 12 martie și 12 aprilie 1933.
