Starting from the third decade of creation, the artist’s colour scheme emerges with remarkable force, emphasizing the materiality and the concrete nature of reality. Strengthened by density, succulence, and brilliance, it faithfully evokes the tradition of Romanian art, highlighted in the presence of motifs and in the enamel effects. One of the pervasive genres of this creation period, which meets his reference for motionless reality, was the still life. Diverse and academic in terms of its compositional arrangement, the still life included in its repertoire leitmotifs such as books, flowers, jugs, fruit bowls, pots, tins, jars with brushes, placed on tables covered in white, checked cloths, on silk scarves or on rural rugs, which the artist enveloped in a precious, sculptural colour scheme.
