A representative of the modernist era, in whose spirit he manifested himself, as well as "a colourist of a different kind", as collector Zambaccian described him in his writings, artist Ciucurencu became the creator of a work inclined towards intensity. With a premise based on the understanding of pictorial truth, acquired during his years of study in Paris, artist Ciucurencu embraced line, colour and value as the three fundamental means of expression. Shapes are presented sketchily, through the line, suggesting volumes. The line, an important element of his visual language, intended to separate areas, acquires a strong emotional function along the way. Whether we speak of landscapes, still life paintings, portraits, social theme or flower compositions, upon operating a strict reduction of external details, the artist pays great attention to the material form, hence reality becoming one of his starting points, which remains, at the same time, a direct reference point. Captured in close proximity to his reality, floral compositions will be among his favourite subjects. Treated "alla prima", in soaring brush strokes, along with pictorial syntheses and colour enhancements, his compositions saw an admirable modern creative evolution, where the vividness and brightness of the palette prevail.
