Evolving throughout an era of turmoil and artistic revolutions, Mützner's creative activity developed in a steady balance. He started his artistic education at the National School of Fine Arts in Bucharest (1899-1900), followed by the Royal Academy of Art in Munich (1900-1902), the Julian Academy (1903) and the Académie Nouvelle de Peinture in Algiers (1910). He created a vast body of works consisting of landscapes, portraits, self-portraits, genre scenes, still lifes and flowers. Around the year 1952, his creation was dominated by the Romanian landscape, wrought by the artists with honesty and great skill. A stranger to workshop concentrations, Mützner favoured working outdoor, making note of the shapes briefly and with ease. By purifying tones, the artist captured the essence of nuances and contrasted them in masterful summaries. During this period, numerous series arose, such as: "Primăvara la Câmpulung" ("Spring at Câmpulung"), "Vara la Câmpulung" ("Summer at Câmpulung"), "Toamna la Câmpulung" ("Fall at Câmpulung"), "Flori în plin aer" ("Flowers in open air"), "Balcic" ("Balchik") and "Nudurile în plin aer" ("Nudes in open air").
