În cursul anului 1942 participă la Salonul Moldovei, ocazie cu care primește "Premiul Național al Moldovei" în valoare de 100.000 lei. Este probabil ultimul Autoportret pictat, doi ani mai târziu decedând în locuința din București (str. Știrbei Vodă, nr. 111).
