Lotul cuprinde două din volumele unei serii foarte populare de descrieri de călătorie, apărute în a doua jumătate a sec. al XIX-lea (1857-1914). Volumele sunt bogat ilustrate. De un interes special este cel de-al doilea volum, care cuprinde o descriere a Transilvaniei, făcuta de E. Reclus, unul din cei mai cunoscuţi geografi ai sec. al XIX-lea.
